Why Karzai in first Press Conference After becoming President.?
First speech after becoming President. Why the hell Afghan arrogant Karzai was sitting in the press conference? This Karzai should be given no respect as his previous statements on Pakistan were so arrogant. I call this First screw up by Zardari. No problem for inviting him for oath ceremony but why he was in new conference ? What do you all think?

Government Of The Mafia, By The Mafia, For The Mafia
Can a man be a credible President, who forgot about his palace in London, worth millions of British pounds, for years, doesn’t remember which college he graduated from, doesn’t remember $3.6 million in his Swiss account that the Swiss government confiscated and doesn’t know how he earned $60 millions deposited in his Swiss accounts? Well these are not controversies or mudslinging on anyone’s character. We are just using his words and documents submitted by him to courts in Britain and elsewhere.

LONDON, U.K.—“I have asked Sherry (Sherry Rehman, now Information Minister) to send me light summer embroidery clothes if I am arrested and imprisoned in Pakistan”, Benazir Bhutto said to me at a central London restaurant. Sherbano Rehman, very much a westernized lady, parachuted into the heart of the PPP and never stopped.
Next day I called the very talented Urdu and German speaking Fauzia Wahab (MNA) in Karachi and asked her, ‘why did she not attend the important PPP meeting in London? She said, ’some people can’t afford to travel and board in London’.
Rehman Malik was behind the scene but very close at that time. According to sources, ‘Benazir Bhutto called Javed Pasha and asked him to take custody of two cars of Mr. Zardari. She gave the white one to Rehman Malik and kept the other one. Javed Pasha’s media outlet and Rehman Malik’s security agency were in the same building in London where Benazir Bhutto used to come frequently. Javed Pasha now reportedly working for India’s Mittal Group attended a reception at Pakistan High Commission hosted by Wajid Shamsulhassan, the new High Commissioner of Pakistan few days ago. It seems like PPP is hijacked by the criminal mafia. The Islamabad government’s new motto seems to be: Government of the Mafia, by the Mafia and for the Mafia criminals.
Benazir Bhutto was a typical Muslim woman inside apart from her liberal views and past. She was very much aware of all kinds of corruption by Asif Zardari and the concerns about this within the party. When a senior journalist based in Washington asked her to consider divorcing him, she said, ‘I cannot because (a) I have small children and don’t want them to lose their father, and (b) I am a politician and people might take advantage.’ She brought up her kids very well.
There seems to be a clear conflict of interest when Zardari’s own government withdraws legal cases against him, not to mention benefiting from NRO amnesty? Do these acquittals serve justice? Mr. Zardari should tell the people of Pakistan how he managed to build an empire worth more than $2 billion and from where he got $60 million to deposit in a Swiss account? He and late Ms. Bhutto have been denying for years to the world that they have nothing to do with Rockwood Estate ‘Surrey Palace’ but then one day his lawyer claimed ownership. Is he a credible man for presidency?
When it comes to his academic qualifications first New York Times and then Dawn a leading English daily reported on 21st March 2008, British officials responsible for maintaining record of all educational institutions in the country have failed to find any trace of the institution called London School of Economics and Business in London from where Asif Ali Zardari is claimed to have received his graduation or equivalent qualification in 1976. In a written response, PPP spokesman Farhatullah Babar said: “Mr Zardari studied business and economics in a school in London now called (the) London School of Economics and Business.”
In a written response to questions about London School of Economics and Business, an Edubase official said: “In order to ascertain whether or not an institution exists, I conduct a search on three registers, Edubase, The Register of Education and Training Providers and the U.K. Register of Learning Providers. I have been unable to find evidence of this institution.”
It is not an issue if he has graduated or not but why is he unable to prove the existence of the institution he claimed to have been attending? Moreover, Mr. Zardari should not be discriminated against due to his mental health problems. He is lucky to have received support for his mental health and physical problems. According to reports unfortunately he is suffering from diabetes and dementia (shrinking of brain). Both are irreversible. Psychiatric illnesses can be improved with drugs and counseling.
“His doctors have declared him medically fit to run for political office and free of any symptoms,” said Wajid Shamsul Hasan, Pakistan’s high commissioner to London. Perhaps the high commissioner is unaware that entry and exit points in the mental health treatment are some times years apart depending on the illness. As Financial Times published on Aug. 26, 2008, Mr. Zardari submitted his medical and psychiatric reports/certificates to British High Court claiming incapacity to stand trial and inability to attend. In March 2007, Stephen Reich, a New York state-based psychologist, diagnosed Mr. Zardari with dementia, major depressive disorder and post-traumatic stress disorder. “He (Mr. Zardari) had difficulty focusing, concentrating and paying attention and is persistently sad, chronically anxious and apprehensive. He (Mr. Zardari) stated that he has had suicidal thoughts, but has not made any suicide attempts. Mr. Reich re-examined Mr. Zardari in June 2007 and September 2007, each time reporting that he had made progress but still had problems that might make it impossible for him to testify in court’.
Another diagnosis in March 2007 by Philip Saltiel, a New York City based psychiatrist said, ‘emotional and neurological problems suffered by Mr. Zardari because of medical treatment and imprisonment had resulted in “emotional instability” and “deficits in memory and concentration”. His assessment suggests, “I do not foresee any improvement in these issues for at least a year.” (FT)
“Mr. Zardari should not be penalized for his past illnesses, however if he commits a blunder whilst leading a nuclear power of 160 million as a head of the state, whilst having constitutional immunity from prosecution, he will also have a lawful defense on the basis of his past psychiatric profile and all liability will rest on security apparatus, election commission and hopeful contenders in his election who failed to challenge his smooth sailing in time, and the loss will be of the state, but surely military rule will survive by default”, said Amjad Malik a lawyer from United Kingdom.
Quite bizarrely, “U.S. officials say they can work with Mr. Zardari despite the controversies of his past”, reported Financial Times. Well these are not controversies or mudslinging on anyone’s character. We are taking his words and documents submitted by him into consideration. Mr. Zardari should consider if he is walking into a trap with false sense of security and paving the way for undemocratic forces.
Can a man be a credible President, who forgot about his palace in London for years worth millions of British pounds, doesn’t remember which college he graduated from, doesn’t remember $3.6 million in his Swiss account that the Swiss government confiscated and doesn’t know how he earned $60 millions deposited in his Swiss accounts?

Zardari & Karzai: Democracy On The Back Of An American Tank
By AHMED QURAISHI

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan—Party slogans pushing back the national anthem, Benazir Bhutto’s picture hung right next to that of the great Founding Father of the nation, and a smug-faced Hamid Karzai, Washington’s barking dog in Afghanistan, invited as a guest of honor. If you are a Pakistani nationalist and you are disgusted by any of this, check the last item on the list: While extolling the virtues of the founder of his wife’s party, the new Pakistani president excitedly waved his hand in the air reminding everyone that his is the party that “took K2 [Pakistan’s highest mountain peak] back from China.”
What a perfect greeting to our Chinese friends from a Pakistani president on the day he takes oath of office. [PLEASE READ MY COLUMN ON HOW THE ZARDARI-GILANI GOVERNMENT DELIBERATELY SIDELINED CHINA IN ITS FIRST FOUR MONTHS IN OFFICE.]
Appeasing the Americans was more important for President Asif Ali Zardari than respecting the sensibilities of the Pakistani nation. So he gave Karzai the honor of becoming the only foreign head of state to be present in the Pakistani presidential palace during the oath of office. It makes perfect sense. President Zardari is an American creation. Washington brokered the deal that made him and his late wife the rightful owners of a staggering unexplained wealth. Karzai is the head of the puppet regime that Washington is keeping alive in Kabul. If the Americans leave, the fate that awaits Mr. Karzai is no different than the one the Afghan people meted out to another former puppet president, the pro-Soviet Najibullah.
During the press conference that Pakistanis watched live today, Zardari and Karzai appeared too small, too insignificant and too unsuited for the offices they hold. Two pygmies. Two historical mistakes.
The Pakistani media, intellectuals, writers and activists have been chiding former President Musharraf for being a ‘dictator’ and have been extolling the virtues of democracy that won’t be complete without the great Pakistani democrats back in power.
So here’s your democracy, on the back of an American tank.
When a reporter from Aaj TV asked President Zardari to condemn the U.S. military for its terrorism and the deliberate killing of women and children in Afghanistan and Pakistan, our new Commander-in-Chief retorted, “There is something called a U.N. Charter. They are in Afghanistan under sanction from the U.N. Are you saying that the U.N. is a terrorist organization?”
Dr. Condoleezza Rice must have shaken her head. ‘How come I never thought of this line?’
To his credit, President Karzai actually did chide the Americans on civilian deaths. His words were far stronger than anything President Zardari had to say when asked about Pakistani women and children killed in our tribal belt by U.S. soldiers who sneaked in the dead of the night, barged into houses and opened fire on sleeping men, women and children.
Do you know what the new Pakistani president said when asked about this? He said he has proposed the creation of a support fund for the victims of such operations.
Thank you, Mr. President, for having a big heart.
Never was the Pakistani Presidential palace so disgraced as it was on 9 September 2008. Please mark it. When the President-elect entered the main hall and the National Anthem was played, the ignorant party activists of the PPP continued to chant ‘Zinda Hai BB Zinda Hai’ [Benazir is alive] halfway through the national anthem. After a few seconds, even President Zardari’s famous grin began to contort. And then the chanting abruptly stopped. We didn’t see it on the screen but obviously someone went there and told them to shut up.
Have you ever seen uncouth and uncivilized party workers shouting such slogans when a president is administered the oath in the White House? Or when a Turkish prime minister from any party does the same in Ankara? Or for that matter anywhere else in the world?
The best part was the joint Zardari-Karzai press conference. Behind them on the wall hung two frames. A dull, simple picture for the Founding Father, the Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah, and right next to him at the very same level, a brighter and a more focused picture of late Benazir Bhutto.
By Allah, all Pakistanis, let me ask you: Is Benazir Bhutto of equal stature as the Founding Father of Pakistan? Have you seen anyone play such party gimmicks with the picture of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk? Or with the picture of Ayatollah al-Khomeini? Or Mao Tse-Tung?
What would be the reaction in Turkey if any party activists or a president or a prime minister dared put their party leader’s picture at par with that of Ataturk at the Presidential Palace?
So there you go. The first day of ‘complete British democracy’ in Pakistan.

“Why Karzai in the first Conferrence after being President”
President Zardari was knows the situation which he had to be faced in his Presidency.. The first and the worst problem is The Talibanization.. These troups had started from Afghanistan and further they are spread in Pakistan’s Northeren Side.. Buner,Waziristan, kuram agency,Malakand agency and in many places.. Even they had captured the Beutifull Valley of Swat which is the place Visitors from Foreign and Entire Pakistan liked to visit..
This statement is to show that we have Karzai to be with us because if gets angry with the Government then we would be in very dangerous position.. I thank to Mighty Allah that he helped Mr.Zardari,Govt and Pak.Army to Fight against Talibanization and kicked them out of our Beloved Country.. Now IDP’s are back to their Town,Villages Safely and got Rs.2 lac each family + 6 months Ration and the construction of their property by the Government..
Pakistan Zindabad, Pakistan Payendabad..
Best Regards..

Karzai in first Press Conference After becoming President, than whtz wrong in this….u made it topic & started criticiz very easily…as farhad said the worst problem of both sides is The Talibanization, started from one side and further spread another one…so we should appricaite him for instead of criticiz him as both countries want to deafeat terrorism but if u people think tht President Zardari is not suited ( according to you mently or whtever)for the office than you are most welcome to show ur abilities, & free to serve ur nation best…
